User access for Ideagen Machine Safety is provisioned through Ideagen Mazlan Home. 

This article explains how to create a new user in Ideagen Mazlan Home and assign them permissions in Ideagen Machine Safety.

Overview

There are three steps to add a new user:

1. Create the user in Ideagen Mazlan Home.

2. Assign the user Ideagen Machine Safety access at the profile level.

3. Set the user's permissions in Ideagen Machine Safety.

Creating a user in Ideagen Mazlan Home

Sign in to Ideagen Mazlan Home as an administrator and create a new user account. This account will be the identity the user will use to sign in to all Ideagen products they're granted access to, including Ideagen Machine Safety. You'll need their name and email address to complete this step. 

To create a new user:

1. In Ideagen Mazlan Home, access the Admin Console.

2. Select User Management.
3. Click Create user.

4. Fill out all mandatory User details fields (indicated by a red asterisk).

5. Expand the Login details and Preferences sections.
6. Fill out all mandatory fields for these sections.

7. Click Continue to move on to assign instances to the user.

Expand each app name to see available instances. Instances marked as Default are your organisation's preset options for easier new user setup.

Default instances are auto-selected for new users. Use the checkbox beside the app name to select/deselect all, or choose instances individually.

8. Click Continue once you've confirmed all instances to assign.
   A success message will appear in the bottom left, confirming the user was created.

9. Review the instance summary.
10. Follow guidance to set up apps and instanced if needed.
11. Click Done.

Note: It may take up to 3 minutes for Users to sync with Ideagen Machine Safety after creation in Ideagen Mazlan Home.

Assigning permissions in Ideagen Machine Safety

To assign permissions: 

1. Navigate to Ideagen Machine Safety and locate the People tab.

2. Find the newly created user and open the User profile.

3. Navigate to the Roles tab on the User Profile. 

4. Assign the specific roles or permissions appropriate to their job function. Until this step is completed, the user will have access to Ideagen Machine Safety but no defined permissions within it.

5. Click the Save button.
6. Click the Close button.

Once the User has the assigned access to the Product and Roles assigned, the User is able to login and access Ideagen Machine Safety.
